I Won’t Be Silent With My Praise

Like everyone, I’ve had struggles. Many of which, I internalize and never talk about. However, there is something I will never be silent with and that is my praise. There are many people in countries across the world who wish they had the freedom to lift their hands and call on the name of Jesus. People are being killed for giving God praise.

So, then, how can I be silent with my praise? There is power in praise. “The joy of the Lord is our strength.” When I was going through my divorce, it was painful, like a death. But, the one thing kept me going was my praise. The more my heart hurt, the more I magnified the Lord. The more He saw me through. If I did not experience the power of this secret weapon, I would think it trite. But, the enemy seeks to destroy our desire to worship God. He does whatever he can to steal our joy. But as the chorus says, “When I think of the goodness of Jesus and what He has done for me, My soul cries out, Hallelujah! Thank God for saving me.”

God has been good to me. I’m going to shout it from the mountain tops. I am where I am because of Him.

silent_praiseIn the book Silent Praise, we meet Melanie who went through unspeakable tragedy. Yet, she did not let that deter her. She achieved success and praised God the way she could. This Christian Romance is dear to my heart because there are many who have not discovered the secret to contentment is Christ. He can make any impossibility a possibility. There was nothing she wanted to do that Melanie did not accomplish. She was inspiring to write.

  1. This thread tells me this is exactly the book I must read. I was born to praise His name. In church I don’t let the head turns, or cutting of the eyes stop my shouting, I keep going.
There was a time we had to praise the Lord in silence as Lindo-Rice says some still can’t so I won’t be silent.
    Thank you for this!

  2. I am almost never silent with my praise inside or outside of the church. When I was a sinner I was loud. When I was cussing someone out they heard me and their grandmama in South Carolina could hear and I don’t think God deserves any less shouting. I think we should be shouting all the more until the people around us have to ask the Lord for us to hold our peace. I’m shouting with you Michelle!
