Your Blessing is In Your Mouth – Guest Post by CaSandra McLaughlin

Let me first start by saying that I’m CaSandra McLaughlin the new kid on the block in the writing world. Growing up I dreamed of writing but didn’t know how that dream would come true. Being an avid reader, I read books, rewrote the story line to a few, even came up with my own epilogues from time to time.

A few years ago I went to a church revival and heard a Pastor say you need to start speaking things into existence. He even said that our tongue was like a pink tornado. I sat wondering how in the world could my tongue be compared to a tornado. I listened as he quoted Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat of it’s fruit (NKJV).

Hearing the scripture I thought that he said it wrong because I had always heard the scripture as life and death being in the power of the tongue. Secondly it didn’t dawn on me that I had that kind of power just by speaking. Third I didn’t realize my words could tear something up like a tornado.

Leaving the revival that night made me look at things in a different light. Here’s what I learned that I needed to do:
1. I had to change my way of thinking about what I wanted out of life. Whatever you think is normally what you will say.
2. I had to speak as if I already see it even during those times when things were looking bleak.
3. I changed my viewpoint. If something didn’t look as if it was going to work out, I viewed it as God preparing me to do it a different better way. When we have thoughts of unbelief and doubt we can’t let it come out of our mouths. Our words could cut us off from what God has in store for us. I believe if we walk by faith and not by sight we will see what we believe and get what God has in store for us.
4. There’s a condition in speaking your blessing- John 15:7 If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire and  it will be done for you.(NKJV)
I prayed and asked God to help me with my thoughts and my words. I have experienced too many dead situations all because of the words I spoke, allowing the negative to take control of my life. BUT God! He allowed me to sit in that revival so that He could change my life. I was willing to line up with His words and receive all that He had in store for me. I’d tried it my way and failed too many times, therefore I had nothing to loose.
Being determined to become an author, I tried so many different avenues that failed. My mind traveled back to that revival and I started speaking life into what appeared to be a dead situation. I began to fret, but in my fretting God told me not to fret over things that weren’t final because my faith could change what appeared to be the facts. Opening my mouth and saying what I wanted to see came to pass faster than I expected. I spoke that I wanted to have a book out by the end of the year. Well, here it is August and I have three books out. All praises to God, it’s all because of Him and I’m a living witness that when you do what is required of you, God will take care of you!
In everything that I do throughout my day whether big or small I speak life. I speak life over my marriage, over my children, over my work life, over my writing, over my connections, over my relationships and I thank God for His revelation.
Seek Him first and watch Him work, that’s what He wants us to do, and tells us in His word Matthew 6:33But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.(NKJV).I want to encourage you today to speak life, your blessing is in your mouth, God has so much in store for you, He’s just waiting on you. Peace & Blessings to you all!!!
